Guitarist Ryan Dugre has performed in venues throughout the United States, Canada, Caribbean, and Afghanistan. In 2013 he was one of five guest artists invited to the Afghanistan National Institute of Music in Kabul, as part of the Winter Music Academy. In Kabul, Ryan performed at the United States Embassy and French Cultural Center, and gave master classes and private/group lessons to students of the institute.
Ryan has recorded with artists such as Ran Blake, Joe Belmont, 2001, and the Superpowers. In 2009, the Superpowers were featured on the compilation Rough Guide to Afrobeat Revival, and in March began recording their newest record. Dugre performs regularly with various groups in the New York and Boston area. Ryan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Dugre is currently on faculty at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and has a private guitar, bass, and piano studio.
