Fiel Sahir is a classical guitar performer and educator aiming to increase public knowledge and appreciation for classical guitar’s versatile nature. He maintains an active YouTube account to exhibit his talents and introduce the guitar to the world. He also shares his passion with the local community by frequently performing in the greater Boston area and teaching at HillHouse and the Wang YMCA. He has been a festival assistant for the Boston GuitarFest for two years. An advocate for the expansion of guitar repertoire, Fiel regularly commissions colleagues to write works highlighting classical guitar and recently premiered “Imágenes de Guanajuato” a suite for guitar and cello by Luis Ruelas-Romo and “Thoughts of Prayer” by Jonas Tarm. He is currently studying at the New England Conservatory of Music under virtuoso Eliot Fisk, and has received instruction from Bruce Holzman, Zaira Meneses, Jérôme Mouffe, Elena Papandreou and participated in master classes with Grisha Goryachev, Marco Tamayo, and Oscar Ghiglia. A polyglot and language enthusiast, he speaks Indonesian, English, French, and Spanish, and is currently tackling Mandarin on his spare time.
