Having graduated with their degrees in music from Greece and Spain, guitarists Kostas Tosidis, Giorgos Pervolarakis, Tanausú Luis Diaz and Alejandro Díaz Bandrés met at the Universitaet Mozarteum Salzburg in Austria. Their strong impulse to engage directly with audiences, in harmony with the creative atmosphere of the university, led them to form the Miscelánea Guitar Quartet in April 2007. Since then, the quartet has received constant guidance and support from renowned musicians such as Eliot Fisk, Maria-Isabel Siewers de Pazur, Marco Tamayo, Ricardo Gallen,Mathias Seidel, Simone Fontanelli and Martin Mumelter.
Concerts and Festivals
Miscelánea Guitar Quartet has given several concerts in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Spain and Greece and has performed, or is going to perform, in international festivals such as:

The International Symposium for the “Internationale Gesellschaft fur polyästhetische Erziehung”, a concert dedicated to the founder of the organisation, writer and ex-Dean of Mozarteum, Wolfgang Roscher; first performance of “Staubzucker”.

Repertory
Their repertoire consists of well-known works by contemporary composers, including Leonardo Balada, Ian Krouse, Dusan Bogdanovic, Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR), as well as original compositions performed, and some of them recorded, for the first time by the quartet Miscelanea. These are:
- “Staubzucker” Marios Joannou Elia (2007)
- “Αpophis” Marios Joannou Elia (2008) which were recorded in the studio of the Austrian Television ORF, in April 2008, and:
- “Μusas y Musicas” Agustin Castilla Avila (2007) (for the quartet and four dancers)
- “Caged Music 4” Agustin Castilla Avila (2008)
- “Atem Pause” Mayako Kubo (2008/09) (This last work was written especially for the quartet, after they had won the special prize in the International Festival of Contemporary Music, Mozarteum, April 2008.)

- 2nd Prize in the 17th International Chamber Music Competition of Thessaloniki, Greece (Thessaloniki, December 2007). (No 1st prize.)
- 3rd Prize in the 18th International Chamber Music Competition of Thessaloniki, Greece (Thessaloniki, December 2008).
