Festival participants will meet each other, artists, and GuitarFest faculty
 and staff, while enjoying refreshments. Participants will also meet with fellow ensemble members to arrange rehearsals and to sign up for Thursday’s Open Mic, the MFA tour and other events.

OPENING NIGHT CONCERT

Senio Diaz, Celil Refik Kaya, and Matías Tozzola

With special guest Senio Diaz, remembering his father Alirio Diaz, to whom the festival “Feria Latina” is dedicated. Featuring first-place Performance Competition winner Celil Refik Kaya presenting music inspired by South America, and first-place Composition Competition winner Matias Tozzola, presenting his winning piece “Peina Catú.”

Danilo Cabaluz and Zaira Meneses

Featuring a tour of South American folk-inspired traditions with Chilean virtuoso Danilo Cabaluz. Mexican native Maestra Zaira Meneses presents a collage of music and poetry evoking the Mexican spirit.
